Greener Product LLC recently introduced a new search engine that is getting a lot of interest from prominent green manufacturers including Kolbe-Kolbe Woodworking (Windows and Doors), Safecoat Paints, The Collins Company (Lumber, Siding, and Particleboard), Weyerhaeuser, Koetter Woodworking, Graf Brothers, Pioneer Flooring, Tesoro Flooring, Pacific Architectural, IceStone Countertops, and others. The online search engine is powered by the Greener Product proprietary software that allows building product manufacturers to “tell their green story” directly to 100,000 LEED APs, 200,000 architects and 5,000 of the most influential architectural companies. Manufacturers can easily demonstrate how their products contribute to a green building project, help provide valuable environmental answers and make it easy for the sales force to more clearly define the commitment to green building and customer service.
Does it work? Building products are registered on the Greener Product LLC web site and evaluated against the United States Green Building Council’s LEED rating system. The platform automatically calculates the applicable LEED credits and provides third party certification information from recognized organizations as GreenGuard, Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Sustainable Forest Initiative (SFI) Scientific Certification, Systems (SCS) and Blue Angel. The platform is greatly helping American based manufacturers by providing up to two (2) extra LEED credits for all building products located within 500 miles of the project.
Whether a manufacturer’s goal is to generate increased sales opportunities or position their brand with the key influencers GreenerProduct.com is the “one-stop” that architects and LEED AP’s are quickly finding to access 80% of the “best of breed” green building products.
