Charleston, SC – July 14, 2011 – Greener Product LLC has recently announced that SteelForm LLC, Austin, TX has been awarded the Greener Product Certification Seal for its Patented Engineered CFS framing components, including the DeltaStud products.
Steelform USA was established with the sole intent of “providing state-of-the-art energy efficient and green building materials to the US market with the firm realization that superior customer service makes a difference for long lasting business relationships” according to Rick Goodwin, the company founder.
Steelform USA recently announced that they have become a partner in the first phase of the “world’s greenest office building” – the National Renewable Energy Laboratories 1,128,000 sq. ft. strcuture in Colorado. The Delta Stud state-of-the-art punch outs are designed to control the framing of thermal bridging and will improve R values by 37%. The Department of Energy selected Steelform Delta Studs over all other worldwide profiles.
Steelform distribute two completely different wall systems (steel framing and steel/concrete composite) and three completely different floor systems (steel joists system, composite steel/concrete floor and a composite pan deck floor system. Steelform also manufactures conventional “C” profiles for interior TI projects and paper/steel bed trims.
One of the most impressive advantages of the Deltastud is unparalleled thermal efficiency. When subjected to the same exterior wall heat source, Deltastud transfers much less heat to interior wall side compared to a conventional “C” stud. The reason is simple: Deltastud’s large web openings reduce the path for heat transfer across the stud. Heat flow is confined to the slender ribs that cross the web. In a typical 8 foot section, DeltaStuds show 75% less thermal transference than “C” studs. That difference translates to substantial savings in energy costs over the life of a building.
The Greener Product Certification Seal demonstrates that a product has been evaluated against the LEED® and/or NAHB green building standards using internationally recognized third-party certification organizations, laboratory test results and/or other supporting documentation.
The Seal confirms that the product complies with LEED® and/or NAHB® standards and may earn credits that contribute to certification under these green building rating systems. Only building products that meet the standards are awarded the Greener Product Certification Seal.
